Donatella MONTALDO (Coordinator)
Donatella Montaldo is currently working as Children's Rights Coordinator in the Human Rights and Equality Unit.
Donatella joined Education International in 2006 and worked for the EFAIDS Programme supporting member organisations in Latin America on their work related to Education For All and HIV/AIDS prevention. She also was involved in major campaigns such as Global Action Week and Word AIDS Day, and coordinated EI’s activities related to child labour.
Donatella holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Sociology and a Master’s in International Cooperation from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid in Spain. She studied at the Institut d'Études Politiques de Paris (IEP), France, as an Erasmus student, and she also earned a certificate in Management Development from the University of Geneva, Switzerland.
For more than six years, Donatella worked for the International Labour Organisation (ILO) in the International Programme on the Elimination of Child Labour (IPEC). She served as Campaign Desk Officer in Geneva, and as Project Coordinator for Central America based in Guatemala City. She then moved on to the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (UNHCHR) in Geneva working on issues concerning indigenous peoples and minorities.
Donatella is of Italian and Spanish nationality, and she speaks Italian, Spanish, French and English.
