Wouter van der Schaaf has worked for Education International since 1993. Previously employed in the area of Development Cooperation, since 2002 he has been coordinating two specific programmes implemented by Education International and its affiliates: one on Education for All and the second programme on HIV and AIDS. These programmes merged in 2006 into the five year EFAIDS programme.
Wouter started his career as primary school teacher before being employed by the Dutch Teachers Union AOb and subsequently the Dutch Confederation of Labour, FNV.
