Information and Communication Technologies

:: Introduction ::

With the advent of advanced technologies in communications, Education International is concerned that the digital divide would widen the gap between the high- and low-income countries, further deepening the poverty cycle. Apart from that, information and communication technologies (ICT) pose a risk to undermine the value of qualified education workers. Hence EI is working with its affiliates on finding ways to harness ICT so as to benefit the teaching profession and education, and use it as a tool to bridge the knowledge gap rather than a vehicle to widen it.
