Chile CPC

In Chile, Colegio De Profesores the teacher's union, is concerned that the law establishing maternity leave does not guarantee women will receive their full leave entitlement.
Employers, including the government employing teachers, pressure women to take less leave.
Some pregnant women do not take as much pre natal leave as they require. Without paid parental leave, many women need to return to paid work as soon as possible. This causes health problems for mothers and their babies.
Gender discrimination is very noticeable in the lack of women in senior positions. For example, less than 30% of principals are women.
