Noemi Esther Tejeda is a geography professor at the National University of La Pampa (UNLPam), former general secretary of the CTERA-affiliated union UTELPa and a member of the Provincial Teachers’ Collective Bargaining Committee. She has been a member of the national leadership of CTERA since 2010, occupying the role of occupational health secretary, and is a member of the National Teachers’ Collective Bargaining Committee.

During 2020, as part of the prevention and isolation measures taken in response to Covid-19, Argentina’s national government passed a decree suspending in-person classes throughout the country. The decision was backed by an institutional framework for social and political support.
