Nearly 40 staff and student union members have gathered in Bratislava, Slovakia, to undertake an intensive three-day training programme on advocacy and lobbying skills for the promotion of student centered learning.

EI’s 7th International Higher Education and Research Conference was held in Canada, from 10-12 September, and was attended by more than 130 participants from all corners of the globe.

As part of its ongoing project with the European Students’ Union (ESU), EI organised a training seminar on student-centered learning (SCL) recently from 1-4 July in Sliema, Malta.

Results from the ‘Time for student-centred learning’ study show that teachers are committed to improving their ways of teaching and are ready to listen to students’ opinions on pedagogical practices.

In her address on the opening day of UNESCO's second World Conference on Higher Education in Paris, EI Vice-President Irene Duncan Adanusa stressed the rights of academic staff and the need for the full application of the 1997 Recommendation outlining those rights.
