madeleine joined EI in October 2012 and her work is mainly focused on the implementation of the EI Gender Equality Action Plan. Prior to joining EI, madeleine was a postdoctoral researcher at the Centre for Gender Research, University of Oslo. The results of her research (a qualitative study of minority and migrant women's organisations in European contexts) has been published in a number of articles in international academic peer-reviewed journals and book chapters. madeleine holds a PhD in Sociology, an MA in Social Research Methods (Goldsmiths, University of London), an MSc in Gender and Development Studies (London School of Economics & Political Science), and an LLB Honours in English and European Laws (University of Essex). madeleine was previously programme officer for Amanitare- the African Network on Sexual and Reproductive Rights; she is an associate editor of the European Journal of Women's Studies.
