"Let’s Go! - Where to now?" Conference on Staff and Student Mobility
The final phase of the Mobility Campaign "Let’s Go!" will end with a conference at University Charles de Gaulle Lille 3, Villeneuve d 'Ascq, France, on 6th and 7th October 2008.
Held under the the label of the French Presidency, the conference will discuss the first results of the activities carried out since November 2007. At the event, the results of the campaign will be presented and the recommendations from the conference participants will be transferred to the Bologna Follow-up Group (BFUG). The recommendations will also form part of the base for discussing mobility for students and staff during the Ministerial meeting in Leuven and Louvain-la-Neuve in April 2009. The conference is aimed at the BFUG, students, staff and other actors working within higher education.
Conference participants will discuss themes such as financing mobility, mobility and quality, diversifying mobility, mobility of social security and pensions and trade in education with special attention to mobility aspects of trade.
These topics will be explored by the following workshops:
- Financing Mobility
- Mobility for Sale: Trade Agreements and the International Higher Education Marketplace
- Diversifying mobility
- The link between mobility and quality
- Pension Schemes and social benefits
The conference will start with registration at 8.00 on the 6th of October and finish at 17.00 on the 7th of October. Several plenaries and working group sessions will be devoted to the different aspects of mobility and participants will be offered many opportunities for constructive discussion about the themes.
For plenary sessions, simultaneous translation into French, English and Russian will be available.
