Colombian academicÁ ngel Beltrá n nominated for trade union prize
Along with its three Norwegian affiliates - the Norwegian Association of Researchers, Utdanningsforbundet(UEN), and Skolenes Landsforbund- EI nominated the prominent Colombian academic, Dr Miguel Ángel Beltrán, for the Arthur Svensson International Prize for trade union rights. A member of EI's higher education union in Colombia, the Asociación Sindical de Profesores Universitarios, Beltrán is an outspoken critic of the Colombian government and has dedicated much of his research to conflict and turmoil in the country. The Arthur Svensson International Prize for trade union rights, awarded in June in Oslo, acknowledges individuals' efforts to promote and strengthen trade unions and trade union rights in their country.
