A plethora of new faces ready to tackle ambitious education agenda
Sporting 12 new members, Education International’s Executive Board is ready to get down to business as it prepares to convene in Brussels for the first time since the World Congress in Ottawa.
The last time they were seen together was on stage celebrating their election wins in Ottawa for Education International (EI)’s 7th World Congress. Next week the 47th meeting of the Executive Board brings together faces new and old to set EI’s agenda.

Taking place in Brussels, Belgium from the 16-19 November, the Board has a full slate of business ahead of it. From getting accustomed to new roles, to reviewing recent success, like the passage of the UN Sustainable Development Goal on education, to setting in motion the organisation’s plans for the next four years, the Board has a lot on its plate.
A special session focused on the impact of the refugee crisis on education is also planned to shed light on what is a grown challenge in many of EI’s member countries.
The Board will also hear the latest developments on the Global Response to the privatisation and commercialisations of education, updates from EI’s regions, along with planning for upcoming conferences, including the next World Congress.
