Civil Society Joint Statement: The Human Right to Education in the Post-2015 Development Agenda
In connection with the UN General Assembly 2013, EI hosted an event on the right to education together with the GCE, ICAE and the OSF. The event brought together more than 100 representatives of member states, UN agencies, international organisations, NGO’s and academia. Among the speakers were the Minister of Education of East-Timor, the UN Rapporteur on the Right to Education as well as representatives of France, UNESCO, UNICEF and UN Women.
A joint statement was drafted on the basis of EI’s 10 Principles and following the successful event, more than 20 organisations have signed up to the statement, demanding the right to quality education for all.
