Dr Patrick Roach is the Deputy General Secretary of NASUWT - The Teachers’ Union (UK). The NASUWT is the largest UK union representing teachers, and school and college leaders. The NASUWT is a politically independent union. Patrick was appointed as the NASUWT Deputy General Secretary in June 2010. Patrick leads the NASUWT’s international programme and is an elected member of the Executive Board (open seat) of Education International. Patrick also served as EI Vice-President (Europe) in 2015. Patrick was formerly a teacher of politics and sociology in further education and was a researcher and lecturer in social policy and equalities in higher education.
