In partnership with the Canadian Teachers' Federation, Burkina Faso's Syndicat National des Enseignants du Secondaire et du Supérieur (SNESS) organised the 14th edition of a training session for in-service activists.

The training, which took place from July 18 to 22, 2023, included the following modules:

  • General pedagogy;
  • Didactics for mathematics;
  • Didactics for geography;
  • Didactics for French; and
  • Gender equality, health and well-being (psychosocial support for internally displaced students).

The launch ceremony was attended by the representative of the Ministry of National Education, Literacy and Promotion of National Languages, the General Secretary of the National Union of African Teachers of Burkina Faso (SNEA-B), and representatives of the Regional and Provincial Directors of Post-Primary and Secondary Education in the Centre and Kadiogo regions.

“This five-day training session was an opportunity for sharing experiences, fruitful exchanges and mutual enrichment on several levels: teaching, gender equity, well-being and health, and trade union issues. And it all happened in a friendly and labour-friendly spirit,” stressed SNESS General Secretary Souleymane Compaoré.
