EI Asia-Pacific Gender Justice Programme is to inform EIAP Gender work in general under one umbrella framework and to ensure that the gender component is an underlying de-facto in all its endeavours. More than ever we need to ensure that gender is no longer a consideration but a fact. This is an all-encompassing programme under the auspices of the EIAP Asia-Pacific Women’s Network.
Objectives
Programme Objectives:
i. Highlight the importance of gender mainstreaming in all EIAP interventions, activities and work;
ii. Commit to the achievement of gender equity at all levels as a key priority for trade union renewal and the building of power within the EIAP region;
iii. Promote gender equality and women’s empowerment in the following spheres:
- a. Challenge stereotypes and barriers
- b. Create environment that encourages women to actively engage and enables equal participation in the union work and decision-making process
- c. To create an ecosystem where women thrive as leaders, agents of positive change and mentors
iv. Mobilise and share knowledge, experience and learn from each other to grow as leaders and unionists

- (Re) establish the sub-regional women’s networks in the Asia-Pacific
- Establish sister-to-sister mentorship programs
- Organize networking opportunities
- Advocacy and Awareness Campaigns
- Research and Data collection
- Establish Feedback Mechanisms
