Description
The primary objectives of the JTF programme are to impart fundamental knowledge of trade union organization, refine leadership skills, raise awareness of union specific structures and policies, assist, and guide the development of strategic plans aligned with the union priorities and needs, and share best practices on recruitment, engagement, communication, gender, organizational finances, and more.
Objectives
- Gain a holistic and in-depth understanding of the roles and responsibilities of their unions and the movement as a whole; and share experiences and good practices with fellows;
- Have acquired the necessary skills and capacities to strength their unions, focusing on good governance, financial practices, service delivery to membership, conflict management and negotiations, managing and delivering effective communication to the members and to the wider society. In addition, to participate and conduct training on issues related to human and trade union rights, when necessary;
- Build the capacity of fellows to develop a strategic plan and provide them with tools to monitor progress and refine plans as necessary;
- Empower the unions to recognize and address their unique challenges and opportunities.
