The Global Status of Teachers report provides a global and regional analysis of the status and conditions of the teaching profession by representing the views of teacher unions worldwide.

This report, commissioned by Education International (EI), builds on previous reports from 2015, 2018, and 2021 with the aim of highlighting the key issues facing teachers in 2024.

The report primarily draws on survey data from 204 senior union representatives across 121 countries.

Given the widespread recognition of teachers' essential role in society, the report outlines key priorities for action and offers recommendations to ensure that the teaching profession remains attractive, sustainable, and sufficiently supported to meet the needs of both current students and future generations.
